Buckingham House

Buckingham House is a delightful Grade 2 listed guesthouse, believed to have been built around 1811 for the Duke of Buckingham. The bedrooms, either offer wonderful views out across the valley or superb seaviews out across St Austell Bay and harbour.


Over the past decade, Buckingham House has built up a wonderful reputation in Mevagissey, for the warmth and friendship shown to its visitors from all over the world....
Andy has become renowned for his huge breakfasts, fondness for children and animals and his wonderful sense of humour......
likewise, Bertie the rough collie also has a special place in many visitors hearts....

Accommodation
Buckingham House is a wonderful old Georgian house with a warm and cosy atmosphere....It features a spiral staircase and ornate ceilings in some of the rooms, rarely found in the old fishing houses....There are four letting rooms, two double ensuites and two family ensuite rooms, which can also be used as twin rooms. All rooms have colour TV with tea and coffee making facilities and there is an iron for guests use.....
The dining room is bright and comfortable, where our guests have a tendancy to linger.....Our breakfasts are quite a feast and guests with special diets or vegetarians will not go hungry.
Rumour has it, that Buckingham House is haunted, although this sweet little blond haired girl has not been seen for almost
20 years.......

Location
Mevagissey is a small coastal village just 5 miles south of St Austell, which is situated at the north eastern corner of the tri-angular "Roseland Peninsula", with St Mawes at the southern tip.
Being in the heart of Cornwall the whole county is easily accessible to our visitors, with the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan very close at hand...
Mevagissey itself, is a delightful cornish village, with working harbour, narrow streets, lovely restaurants, pubs and gift shops....
